World Cup winners reunite for 10th anniversary dinner

29 October 2013 - 3:03pm
Rugby World Cup at Twickenham

Rugby fans will never forget the moment that Johnny Wilkinson scored the famous drop goal to win the 2003 Rugby World Cup. Neil was an integral part of the team that were victorious in Australia a decade ago, with the final in Sydney remembered as one of the most memorable moments in English sporting history.

On Friday 1st November 2013, Neil will be joining up with his World Cup winning teammates for the first time in 10 years at a Gala Dinner celebrating the anniversary of the tournament.

The 2003 squad and their management will gather at Battersea Evolution for the evening that will honour their achievements and raise money for two rugby charities - Rugby Football Union’s Injured Players Foundation (IPF) and the Rugby Players Association’s Restart.

Organised by the RFU and RPA, the dinner will begin a weekend of celebrations with England playing Australia the following day (Saturday 2nd November) – the first of the QBE Internationals.

It has been a busy time for Neil, who was honoured at another rugby dinner at the King Power Stadium in Leicester organised by Champions (UK) plc. The evening raised money for Rainbows Children’s Hospice, and featured a variety of guests and sporting stars who paid tribute to the rugby legend.
