Despite narrowly missing out on the Six Nations title, Stuart Lancaster’s young England side performed well at the tournament which bodes well for the future, especially next year’s World Cup.

Ireland ensured Brian O’Driscoll’s last ever match in rugby union had a dream ending by defeating France and securing the Six Nations title. The match was closely fought and they edged past the home nation 22-20, with France missing a penalty late on.

England had earlier defeated Italy 52-11 and would have won the title if Ireland had slipped up against France. Elsewhere, Wales enjoyed a huge 51-3 victory over Scotland.

Neil was pleased to see England put in such a strong performance and is excited about the squad’s prospects for the future.

“England appear to be on the right road to capture an elusive second World Cup winning success in 2015. However they will face an acid three test series against current World Cup champions, New Zealand, in the summer. This will tell us how far along the road they are”.
