With the second warm-up match played by the British and Irish Lions on June 5, Neil is looking forward to following the rest of the warm-up games in the lead up to the first test game on 26 June against the Qantas Wallabies.

The first game of the season saw the Lions take on the Barbarians (1 June) with a winning score of 59-8 to the Lions. Wednesday’s game (5 June) was against Western Force at Patersons Stadium and finished with a score of 69-17, again to the Lions.

Neil commented: ‘I am confident the Lions are ready to take on the Qantas Wallabies at the end of June. With the selected squad I believe we have every chance of winning and am excited to watch the 2013 tour. I have every faith in them.’

Neil was on talkSPORT on Thursday 6 June following the Western Force game. Discussing the game play and the dynamics of the Lions team, Neil focused on the strengths of the team and how they could succeed at winning the Tour. Highlighting on the Alan Brazil Sports Show that he thought the opposition was not to the high standard needed to truly challenge the Lions, Neil was disappointed and believed the Lions were not being given true opposition they deserve.
